Tasks that reveal student thinking

In Math

Students use the 'Explain Everything Math' apps to show and tell their math thinking skills and the steps on how to solve the math problems.  Students will create a video and share it with the class. In my class, students uses their whiteboard and show the steps on how to solve the problems of the day.

In Reading

Students were given a post it note to write down what they think of the characters, theme, scene, make predictions and using all the reading and writing strategies that they have learnt.

Learning Intentions

The focus of our sessions will be to understand the principles of the Personalised Learning and Inquiry approach and some of the techniques required to support it. The key skills will be: Understanding the changing education model; Developing questioning techniques to help students remain in charge of, and responsible for, their own learning; Posing a 'Personal Inquiry Time' question, problem or interest; Refining your search strategies; Exploring and using iPad apps and web based applications; Applying formative assessment techniques; Reflecting on the process.
